The Warriors UltraRun is an overnight, underground running experience that carries runners over 28 miles as they recreate the escape route from the iconic 1979 film by Walter Hill. After attending a 1 AM Conclave, held at a secret location in the Bronx, runners dressed as gang members pass iconic shooting sights as they race for Coney Island.

For the 2022 race, members of the Warriors Elite Team -- who are either winners of prior events or invited VIP runners -- will be given a 10 min head start before being chased through NYC in the dead of night.

This is an underground, unofficial race run by fans for fans. We make no profit whatsoever & protect the Warriors brand. We don't even print T-shirts. All funds from ticket sales go to tech costs for The Conclave; getting the word out on social; and hiring a race photographer

The NYC Black History 50 is an interactive running experience taking runners to key locations for NYC Black history throughout the 5 boroughs. At key sights, runners will be able to participate in interactive historical experiences, such as private tours of unique locations with historical guides.

The route introduces runners to key moments and sights important to understanding Black history in New York City, whether the harsh realities of slavery, or the uplifting stories of free Black communities and empowerment that flourished then, and now.

It is an unofficial, untimed run with where runners can choose to run shorter distances, such as 5k or 10k routes, half or full marathon distances to visit one borough or sight, or longer distances, linking several boroughs together. The complete distance is 50.9 miles, beginning in South Staten Island and ending at the Ralph Ellison Memorial in Harlem.

MEET TODD AYDELOTTE - HeadTrip Founder

Todd Aydelotte is an ultrarunner, race director and public relations executive living in New York City.  Todd’s unique approach to running long distances, historical ultrarunning, has been covered by media outlets all over the world.  Todd has completed numerous 40, 50 and 80 mile runs to trace unique historical events and personalities -- whether Edgar Allan Poe, Teddy Roosevelt, Walt Whitman and others. To honor the victims of David Berkowitz, Todd completed the Run of Sam on two separate occasions, running over 60 miles to visit 8 crime scenes in a single night; as well as The Bowery Mission UltraRun, a solo 75-mile run where Todd worked within The Bowery Mission’s men’s shelter and visited the organization’s facilities throughout New York and New Jersey, while running for nearly 24 hours.  In 2019, Todd staged his first underground group run, the first-ever The Warriors UltraRun, which has now grown into one of the world’s largest events for fans of the iconic cult film by Walter Hill. In 2021, he founded the NYC Black History 50, a 50 mile run that takes runners across all five boroughs in a single day, where they can participate in live historical experiences.
