This was my first time in New York and I had no idea on where to run. The tour guide was genuinely friendly, knowledgeable and an awesome tour guide! As a female runner I felt very safe on the run, which is important to me running in unfamiliar places. Any runner wanting to tour New York would love this tour! A workout and a tour all in one~incredible! The tour guide provided a safe route full of interesting sights, history, sounds and wonderful aromas of New York! Our tour guide also took a few pictures, which will be sent via email! I can't wait to see them! I highly recommend this tour to other runners! Oh by the way, you set the pace too! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! It was great...saw places I would not have seen otherwise, felt safe and stayed on track with my running. Signing up for this tour was the best thing I could have done. I'm from a small town in Indiana, have NO sense of direction and was traveling on business to NY City for the first time. My stay was short and had little time between meetings. This was the best way to sight see, de-stress and get some exercise. I felt safe and secure, and enjoyed every step of the route. Having a personal tour guide was incredible. I wasn’t sure at first because I'm kind of the quiet type (especially while running), I would recommend it to anyone. You will not regret it. City Running Tours bent over backwards to make sure my travel to the big apple was complete. Running over the Brooklyn Bridge was one of the highlights of my run and it was great to be able to stop and have a picture taken of the experience. Thanks Again Michael!!! Next tour.... Chicago. What a wonderful experience! I feel like I really got to learn about and experience New York from those who know it. I got to set the pace and enjoy. Big FUN! The tour is personalized. It is like going on a run with a well-informed friend. It is conversational, so I was not "lectured to" therefore the information learned was relevant to me. My guide took photos on our run that are now wonderful memories. I was met and dropped back at my hotel, so there was no chance of my getting lost. We rode on the subway, which added to the experience. I received a goodie bag which included a great looking shirt that is actually a women's size, so it fits! I hope to be a repeat customer in the near future. This was a highlight of out trip! It was a great way to start the day and see the city, while learning about it at the same time. Although we left the choosing to you, I liked that we had the option to choose the sights. Our tour guide was the best. He really enjoyed running and most of all knew a lot about the city and loved his job. Loved it. Great customer service. Loved that I could get in a fun longer run (16-mi.) during marathon training season while on a quick trip to NYC. Wanted to see the ins and outs of Central Park and surrounding parks/water, which I now know you really can only see on foot and with a knowledgeable guide--Coleman was a great guide (informative and attentive to my pace/distance/walk/water needs). Great park/city run as a visitor (without any safety concerns of going alone) . . . and it's been a blast telling people about it. Great for visitors or locals. I ran with Lauren, one of the guides and she was fantastic. We went from Times Square down to Tribeca, ran along through Battery Park, past Ground Zero, the NY Stock Exchange, up to and over Brooklyn Bridge .... along through Brooklyn and over Manhattan Bridge, up through Little Italy and back to the hotel. Lauren ran at a good pace and varied the pace to suit me; she was informative and fun to talk to. It was the perfect way to get rid of any jetlag and a great thing to do as soon as you arrive in NY as it gives you a quick snapshot of the major attractions around the city. We'll definitely be doing this the next time we visit NYC, Chicago or DC. The guide was very knowledgeable, and we learned so much more about the city even though we'd been to NYC several times before. Definitely worth the money. I am a repeat customer. I did one of the running tours of NYC last year, and another one this year. This is absolutely the #1 way to see and experience a city. Your own personal tour, with a local, you can see any site you want to see, on your schedule, and get great exercise while doing it. They provide water, run your pace, and will even stop for photo opportunities along the way.... all the while learning interesting facts and fun bits about the city. From a runner's perspective, you see so much more than you could possibly see on a bus or in a car, and of course you cover more ground than you do by simply walking. I signed up for a running tour of Chicago and loved it! My running tour in Chicago was worth my money as well as my time. Gloria was my tour guide and she did a great job catering this tour to my needs. This was an excellent was to see the city and get exercise all for a reasonable price. Don't hesitate to try City Running Tours on your next vacation. Not only is the guide there to take pictures for but he or she also carries your water in her own backpack. What a bonus! We recently did an afternoon run. Our guide Elizabeth was great; she helped us pick out a route beforehand (since I lived here I wanted to do something different but had no idea what) and helped ease our minds about being able to keep up on the run. We had a fantastic time and learned some fun new facts we spent the rest of our weekend telling everyone we saw. In addition to being informative and a healthy activity to do with out of town guests- they take pictures that you are given digitally for no cost and give you a goody bag and carry water, keys, etc for you. We really enjoyed it and would heartily recommend this to anyone we know. It's a great price for a tailor made tour guide experience and a great way to take advantage of DC's generally temperate weather! Great way to get introduced to DC - my guide easily matched my pace and was well informed and interesting! I always worry about fitting in a run while on vacation- this was the perfect solution. It was worth every penny. The experience was fantastic! My guide provided lots of interesting information and did not go above or below my capabilities. I want to go back to DC just to do another running tour! Jennifer Hughes does a great job of leading running tours through downtown San Diego. She met me at my hotel lobby and led me around the harbor, the convention center, through China Town and around Petco field. It's the best way to see a city and keep in shape.
